Self Respect

In the mirror's reflection, a soul stares back,

With eyes that shimmer, no courage they lack. For in the depths of self, a treasure is found, A precious jewel, forever unbound.

Self-respect, a beacon, guiding the way, Through trials and tribulations, come what may. With each step taken, with pride held high, A spirit unbroken, reaches for the sky.

It's in the quiet moments, alone with oneself, That self-respect flourishes, like books on a shelf. A fortress of strength, against doubt and disdain, A shield against cruelty, a balm for the pain.

For to respect oneself is to honor one's worth, To cherish the vessel that carries one's birth. In the face of adversity, in the midst of strife, Self-respect is the compass, guiding through life.

So let us stand tall, with heads held high, Embracing our worth, beneath the open sky. For in the journey of self, through valleys and peaks, Self-respect is the voice that never weakens nor shrieks.
