My Ego

In the realm of the self, ego reigns supreme,

A shadowy specter, a relentless dream. It whispers sweet nothings, a siren's call, Enticing the unwary to rise and fall.

With pride as its armor, and vanity its cloak, Ego parades through life, a silent stroke. It feeds on validation, thirsts for praise, Blinding its host to the tangled maze.

In the pursuit of greatness, ego takes flight, Blurring the lines between wrong and right. It builds castles of illusion, towering high, Only to crumble in the blink of an eye.

Yet amidst the chaos, a glimmer of truth, Ego unraveled, stripped of its youth. For in the depths of humility, lies the key, To unlock the shackles and set oneself free.

So let us heed the lessons ego imparts, To temper ambition with humility's arts. For in the balance of self and soul, Lies the path to wholeness, the ultimate goal.
